Hollywood & Color.
In the photo on the left, actress Anya Taylor-Joy is wearing muted, cool colors that are in disharmony with her natural coloring. In the photo on the right, you can see how wearing a deep forest green and the right lip color instantly brings a vitality to her coloring. You can also notice that facial features such as her eyes, lips and bone structure are more defined. Her skin looks clearer and more radiant and her hair shines. Lastly, focus is drawn to the center of her face.
What Does a Color Analyst Look For?
During a color analysis, a certified color analyst examines how various colors interact with your unique features, including skin tone, eye color, and natural hair. The goal is to identify which colors enhance your natural appearance and which ones create discord. Specifically, the analyst looks for how colors impact your complexion, the brightness of your eyes, and whether the overall effect is harmonious or distracting.
12 Seasonal Tones.
ColorBook identifies a range of colors that harmonize with a person’s natural color utilizing Albert Munsell’s Theory of Color.
Albert Munsell, artist and teacher, created the Munsell color wheel for artists that is the global standard for organizing color harmony. It indicates colors that are true to nature based on these three dimensions: Value - the lightness or darkness of a color; Hue - the amount of warmth or coolness of a color; Chroma - bright to muted of a color.
In the 12 Seasonal Tone model, each season has its own unique characteristics of color based on the hue, value, and chroma.
